Women’s 1st XI – Cup Upset of the Round!
Phoenix 121/5 vs Balbriggan 123/4 – Won by 6 wickets
Our women stunned Phoenix on their home turf to secure a semi-final cup spot! After Tess Maritz (2 wickets) helped restrict the hosts to 121, Lara Maritz powered the chase with a rapid 48, backed brilliantly by Madison Landsman’s classy 35. A composed chase saw victory sealed in just the 15th over. Balbriggan will now meet Merrion in the semi-final!
Men’s 1st XI – Washed Out After Fightback
A rain-hit clash against North County saw Balbriggan make early inroads. Matthew Hollard (4 wickets) and Sebastian De Oliveira (2 wickets) had County 27/5, but a resilient 105-run stand by our town rivals saved their day before rain called things off at 186/7.
Men’s 2nd XI – Strong Win Over The Hills
Balbriggan 182/10 beat The Hills 151/10 by 52 runs
A solid team performance kept the 2s rolling with a 52-run win. Cian Rooney led the way with a composed 48, supported by Nithin Thambi (38) and Emad Uddin (24). With the ball, Shakir Ullah starred with 4/26, while Zulfiqar Ali backed him up with 3/29. Fittingly, Ryan Keenan finished the match in style – one ball, one wicket, sealing the win!
Men’s 3rd XI – Rain Ends Play
The 3s didn’t get a ball in as their fixture fell victim to the weather.
Men’s 4th XI – Momentum Building!
Finglas 141/10 vs Balbriggan 142/6 – Won by 4 wickets
Another win for the 4s! Karan’s standout 65 laid the foundation for the chase, with Kuma adding 21. With the ball, Ollie (3/22) and Neeraj (3/34) led the charge, and the support cast — Hamsa, John, and Karan — all chipped in with a wicket each.
