It was a historic weekend for Balbriggan Cricket Club as the 3rd XI secured the title and the 4th XI sealed the league title! Alongside that, we saw a heroic farewell performance from Madison, a huge win for the 5s, and the club spirit shining through across every pitch.
⬆️ 3rd XI – League Champions!
League confirmed for the 3s! Although their weekend fixture vs Dundalk was cancelled, previous results have secured their move up the ladder. A huge achievement and a reflection of the squad’s depth and determination all season long.
🥇 4th XI – League Champions!
The 4s have officially won their league! After a dominant season, Avi’s squad sealed the title with a game to spare. Huge congratulations to everyone involved — it’s been an exceptional campaign of teamwork, resilience, and consistency!
🔹 Women’s 1st XI vs Pembroke
Pembroke 157/6 | Balbriggan 144/4 – Pembroke won by 4 runs
It was a narrow loss in a hard-fought contest as Balbriggan fell just 4 runs short of the target. It also marked Madison Landsman’s final game of the season, and she signed off in style with a brilliant 54 (6x4s, 1×6).
Additional runs from Ella Marsh (25) and Lara Maritz (21) kept us in the chase. With the ball, Lara picked up 2 wickets, while Madison, Erin Knight, and Ella took one each.

🌧️ Men’s 1st XI vs Cork County – Abandoned
Unfortunately, the Senior Cup champions were unable to take the field as heavy rain and wet ground conditions in Cork led to the match being abandoned.
🔹 Men’s 2nd XI vs Merrion 2
Merrion 319/5 | Balbriggan 191 all out – Merrion won by 128 runs
It was a tough day at the office for the 2s. Merrion were reduced to 25/3 early on thanks to Shakir Ullah’s 2/43, but a massive 242-run 4th wicket stand took the game away.
With the bat, Bilal Iqbal struck a solid 55 (5x4s, 2x6s) and Bhavesh Lakhotia added 31 in a valiant chase effort.
🔹 Men’s 5th XI vs Knockharley 3
Knockharley 151 all out | Balbriggan 153/2 – Brig won by 8 wickets
A big bounce-back win for the 5s after a few tough weeks! The bowling attack shared the spoils with 2 wickets each for Ollie Richardson, Euan Bannister, Sadiq Momand, and Abdul Momand.
With the bat, Bhavesh Vaiety (40) laid the foundation before Sadiq Momand smashed an unbeaten 68 (8x4s, 4x6s) to chase down the target in style. A great performance from a team that’s building confidence at the right time!
